Seasiders` Write! came to life in early 2006 as a response to the lack of quality Creative Writing courses being offered as a result of governmental funding issues. It`s intention was to provide a platform for writers to be equipped and nurtured and helped to achieve their individual writing aims. With an initial project in Blackpool being funded by Arts Council England a small group of writers came together for just thirteen weeks, at the end of which they produced the first Seasiders` Write! anthology, Raspberry Jam. That first project was so successful that the Arts Council funded further development which enabled two distinctly different groups to be formed; a community writing group and a Masterclass. The project was so successful that the groups are still meeting to support each other. Seasiders` Write! has that same mission right now - to equip writers everywhere. We equip writers in the following ways: Online Courses to work through at your own speed, Residentials at a variety of centres, Local course plans for local groups, Individual literary criticism, A writers forum, Editorial provision Regular competitions
In addition and also as a direct result of the funding recieved from Arts Council England we have launched Brantwood House Literary Agency, which is now actively seeking new literary talent to promote.
