Raspberry Jam - the anthology
PRESS RELEASE

Seasiders boil up the Jam
A £7000 creative writing project launched in April this year has come to end. Seasiders Write! has collected writers from across the area and finally launched Raspberry Jam – the anthology to celebrate the culmination of nearly six months work.
Project Leader and local writer Neil Bromage says, “Seasiders Write! has produced some really great writing and this anthology showcases just some of it. It’s been a real privilege to work with this group of people and I hope the event at the library will be a real celebration of the effort these people have put into their writing.”
Raspberry Jam was launched at Blackpool Central Library recently with an array of local writing talent attending a wine reception. Speaking on behalf of Blackpool Library, Jane Brooks says, “I could have listened to people reading their work all night. All the stories were of a very high calibre and I wanted them to go on - I felt sorry when they finished!
These stories were a lot better than some published works which we buy for the library and I wish them all the best in their future writing careers”.
Seasiders Write! has been supported by Arts Council England, Blackpool Council and Creative Lancashire. Raspberry Jam has been sponsored by local firm Blackpool Printers, part of the CMYK Group of companies. Whilst the funded course ended in July the groups have continued to meet at Palatine Library and Learning Centre to develop their writing yet further and new group members are always welcome.
As for the title of this collection Neil Bromage says, “It’s the fruit of Seasiders Write, boiled up and conserved!”
